To succeed with a UK Ancestry Visa application you will need to be a Commonwealth citizen, aged 17 years or above and able to prove that one of your grandparents was born in the UK.
A common misconception held by people intending to apply for a UK Ancestry-Visa is that they are required to have secured employment in the UK. Although this is preferable to enhance your prospects of succeeding with your application, it is not a specific requirement of the relevant immigration rules. All that is required is that you submit sufficient evidence to show that you are willing, able and likely to secure employment in the UK.
Your Ancestry Visa will be issued for a period of 5 years. Once you have lived in the UK for 5 years on your Ancestry Visa you will become eligible to apply for permanent residence in the UK. 12 months after you have been granted permanent residence you will qualify to apply for British citizenship.
Congratulations on another successful ancestry visa under your belt Gavin!
We can’t thank you enough for the support you have given and your professionalism. We are over the moon!
Immense thanks once again.
Kind regards,
